2026 London Visual Arts Report – 5 Priorities
London’s visual arts sector is a major contributor to the city’s cultural identity, creative economy and international reputation. Artists, studios, galleries, museums, archives and cultural organisations generate social, health, educational and economic value across every borough.
However, the sector faces growing pressures from rising costs, insecure workspace, funding uncertainty, technological change, environmental challenges and increasing barriers to participation.
This report outlines the five strategic priorities identified through sector consultation and roundtable discussions.
CVAN London calls on policymakers, funders, local authorities, educational institutions and cultural partners to work together to:
- Protect artist workspaces and cultural infrastructure.
- Invest in artists and future talent.
- Strengthen inclusion and cultural freedom.
- Support sustainable and innovative practice.
- Build a resilient and ambitious future for London’s visual arts sector.
